Piercing and jewelry
02/08/2017 16:28
Piercing and jewelry are made from various materials including ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic metals.
The risk ranges from feeling discomfort, temperature rise, burns and even dangerous shifts depending on the amount of ferromagnetic material ("degree of magnetic susceptibility").
As most of the time the composition of these jewels is not known, it is advisable to remove them prior to the exam.
